I have no problem with old flexi singles that were freebies in music magazines and flexi EPs released by Japanese HC bands in the early 80s. Contemporary labels putting them out is just silly though, I noticed it was a micro trend a few years ago.

I do think a 7" is a great format, especially for hc punk, but I draw the line at a $15 2-song single.
@sicboy I think that's among the reasons the 7" is dying. The rising costs of pressing them end up suppressing demand, which in turn necessitates further price hikes to make pressing them financially viable, etc., etc. We need Goodbye Boozy to run a seminar or something on how he keeps his prices down. Otherwise, it's not looking good for the 7" in the long run.
At least a 2 song $10 Cheater Slicks 7" is worth more musically than most bands full LPs
