NITS, DRAGS, AND SNIFFY ART

NITS, DRAGS, AND SNIFFY ART

ITCHY & THE NITS LPS HAVE LANDED!!!!
The Nits fiasco has finally come to an end. Many reference lacquers and test presses later the records have finally arrived and I'm nearly through packing all your preorders.  It was a wild ride, but they look amazing and I'm so happy with how this record came out. Once all wholesale orders are fulfilled, I'm pretty sure the first pressing will be completely sold out, but if I have any copies left they'll get thrown up on the site. Thanks to everyone who waited patiently.  In 22 years of releasing records I've never experienced anything like this, but from here on out we will not take any preorders until test presses have been approved!!!!

SPEAKING OF PREORDERS.... THE DRAGS- Set Right Fit To Blow Clean Up is set to press next week, which means we'll be making release date and THE DRAGS will have these on their merch table for the TOTAL PUNK CORPORATE RETREAT KICK OFF!!!! Despite being one of my absolute favorite bands growing up, I never got to see them live so I am beyond excited to finally change that at the end of this month. THEIR FIRST SHOW IN 26 YEARS!!!! It's also been great getting to know the members and to hear a bits of THE DRAGS story.  I plan on sitting down with them to get the full scoop for a piece in the next issue of SNIFFY LININGS

Despite 24 years experience releasing records when it comes down to it I'm still a full blown amateur and if there's an ass backwards way of doing something I will find it!  When the covers for the SET RIGHT FIT came in, which looks amazing by the way, I decided to compare them to the original and that was when I noticed a glaring omission. When the scans of the original were being cleaned up a line was removed that had Estrus's address. Well it turns out that wasn't all it included!  Despite all the other credits being listed in one box on the back cover, Art Chantry's design credit was at the end of the line we axed! Talk about a monumental blunder!!! Art's a graphic design legend, which is why I had new covers made when the Dragsploitation jackets  weren't up to snuff.  So... back to the stamp mines with yours truly! I ordered a stamp and due to the gloss finish some hi priced quick drying ink and got to work writing "I wlll not delete Art Chantry's design credit" 350 times on the chalkboard! The good news is I think i a hand stamped design credit is a fitting tribute to Art's approach. Hopefully he agrees.

AND FINALLY....
I asked JIMBO EASTER (Piranhas, Druid Perfume...) to design the cover for the second issue of SNIFFY LININGS and when he emailed me the result I was absolutely blown away.  I felt bad that I was going to have to cover any of his amazing art with the SNIFFY LININGS masthead. Well Neisha really outdid herself with this amazing gift of the original art which I have now framed and hanging in my office.  I plan on spending countless hours getting lost in the distorted faces and looking for the one that most accurately captures my current mood.  JIMBO is a  gifted artist and its an honor to not only have his art adorn the new Sniffy Linings cover, but to now have this piece, as well as a second JIMBO piece, that he gifted us, hanging in our house!

Well that's it for me.  I'm trying to move more away from posting on social media and looking for different ways to connect with people, so look for more updates to come .  Oh yeah and if you want to read an interview with yours truly its posted here.
