It was my first trip outside the state of Florida as an adult. We were going up to Atlanta to see The Cramps.  I knew nothing about THE DRAGS but the cover caught my eye and Johnny B from THE CRUMBS told me I had to buy it. He also handed me the first Back From The Grave that day. THANKS JOHNNY! Later that night I saw and heard Guitar Wolf for the first time!!! It was my first introduction to Estrus, Crypt, and the genre of \"garagepunk.\" A pivotal day indeed, and for better or worse, started me on my path into the luxurious life of a dirt broke middle aged label owner. From there on I was buying anything with the Estrus or Crypt logo and scouring the Estrus catalog for more lo-fi trashy tunes.  For my money and in all my searching no one did it better than The Drags! Their name should be up there with Teengenerate, Supercharger, and The Mummies!  All these years later and I still consistently pull out my Drags records and they sound just as exciting to me now as they did at the age of 18. The songs are razor sharp, never let up, and make you want to throw your body against the wall and scream!!!! \u003cem\u003eTeenage Invaders are coming and someone's gotta even the score!\u003c\/em\u003e Then there is the fantastic imagery provided by ART CHANTRY.  The Drags had it all.  That is why I’m so excited to be reissuing their catalog 30 years later, starting with their debut 10”, now as a 45 RPM 12”( for an additional two inches of TOTAL DRAGSPLOITATION)!!! We’ll be rereleasing the aforementioned follow up Stop Rock and Roll on LP later this year. They possess a friendship that one could only imagine exists in teen sitcoms of the 60’s and 70’s and Saturday morning cartoons. The world could collapse tomorrow (seems probable) and with the rest of us hysterically running around, hands to the heavens, The Nits would be gathered in some cave banging on rocks, strumming rubber bands and putting each other in stitches. They are the real deal 21st century Monkees. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“Welcome to The Itchy \u0026amp; the Nits show \/ Dance like you’re at the disco” sings the chorus to the Nits’ second Theme Song, which opens their sophomore album. “Greetings From...” contains odes to Smelly Boys, swimming at the Nudie Beach, and watching television on a beautiful day; more songs about relationships and less songs about getting crabs. 'Cartoon' is littered with classic sound effects swiped from the songs source material, which feels perfectly at home amongst this setting. Even at their most introspective, on song such as 'Waiting Around' and 'Gimmie a Break', the sounds are more suited for the beach than the funeral parlour, and simplicity is still the order of the day. We don’t hear a guitar solo till album closer 'City Line', most of the songs are two to three chords, and the choruses are generally a group chant sure to stick in your skull and crack you up. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eItchy \u0026amp; The Nits have spent the last two year’s honing their craft while touring across the US, EU and Japan. Kyle handled everything from playing all the instruments and production, which is incredible, to the impeccable art. It’s a testament to his talent that he can pull this off without delving into the world of the hokey. The lyrics and story telling are really astounding.
