I for one think Limp Bizkit and Slipknot's influences are finally being embraced by a new crop of hardcore kids and I think that's a good thing.
Also all that 90s sad sack guitar pop: Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, especially the Gin Blossoms. I can't get enough.
Goo Goo Dolls > the Replacements and you can take that to da bank
I kinda found myself liking some Decemberists' songs. I grossed myself out.
@Uptown ruler 666 420 I don't like the Goo Goo Dolls but don't understand the appeal of The Replscements at all
Always enjoyed a lot of that Florida-style No Idea punk as long as the influence is more Leatherface than Springsteen. Eddie Money. Always thought Supergrass were a good lil rock group that never deserved the Britpop stink.
@Allez Al Oh damn I didn't realize folks had turned on Britpop. Pulp and to a lesser extent Blur are longtime faves.
I love Gaslight Anthem in spite of the shlock factor. I blame the fact that I'm originally from New Jersey.
@Allez Al That first Supergrass album is killlllller. Nothing after that really grabbed me in the same way tho.
@Allez Al

Well put, agreed.
@LaManna Liked their first couple albums alot.
Psycho/rockabilly is oddly enjoyable for me. Slippery slope before I find myself wearing a flame button up and going to hot rod conventions.
I think the deluge of Britpop here (I'm British) that was an absolute landfill landslide and inescapable for 15 years makes it difficult for some Brits to hear most of it. And then the mid 00s follow up wave (this time with added Gang of Fourisms) reallllly didn't help haha.
The Auteurs were the best of the first wave Britpop bands. Luke Haines's autobiography is hilarious.
@Allez Al Makes sense. I've always been drawn to the genre, but it definitely has more outsider status in the US I'm sure. Except for Oasis. Ugh.
I love me some Bruce, seems like he's fallen out of favor.
Lot of people hate REM but I think they have several great albums and many many tracks. Even "shiny happy people"
I get shit for being into the Cows. Which, I suppose, is fair in 2025.
The Jam was disliked by a few individuals in the other thread but I love 'em. Some bops and good songwriting if ya really listen.
Yeah, I'm VERY down with Springsteen...and not just Nebraska.
