WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT? PART 47479

  • Currently listening to the SHOP REGULARS LP and I'm not sure of the last time I enjoyed a 20+ minutes song.

    https://shopregulars.bandcamp.com/album/shop-regulars-2

Kinda reminds me of that L.O.X record from a few years back.

  • @ratcharge really cool record, also features members of L.O.X. so that makes sense

  • Nice! Didn't have a clue.

Also people should check out this new punk/ sorta "modern KBD" band from Lyon, France :

  • The vocals get in the way of me enjoying the Shop Regulars as much as I'd like.  I love the guitars.

Speaking of L.O.X./See My Friends bands: R.I.P., Stevie.  Those Mope Grooves records are some of my favorites of the last however many years.

  • REMPLACEMENTS - Tim

    RAMONES - halfway to...

RYAN DAVIS and the roadhouse band - dancing on the edge

    TILT -Runal juz...EP

  •  Been obsessed with cassette tapes for a while now and have been basically buying up anything a all tape label out of Nashville called Knuckles On Stun does. Not game changing. Just fun shit.

  • Die Verlierer- Notausgang

Somehow missed this last year, but saw it on a bunch of year end list and finally checking out.

  • The new Useful People EP from Austin band Cast of Thousands rules.

  • Played the "Somebody got their head kicked in" comp. today. A record that i never thoght much of. Was pleasantly surprised by the Joneses tracks. A band i never really checked out before and now i feel missed out on. They stand out from the more or less generic hardcore stuff on the comp. Revisiting old comps is a recommended activity.

Someone Got Their Head Kicked In!, Primary, 1 of 6

  • I've been listening to Being Dead's latest Eels and have been loving it. I've long lamented the end of Grass Widow, and this scratches that same itch while also being its own thing. Really fun record, lots of ideas and they all work. Melodic as hell. Great playing and songwriting.

  • Endless Boogie - 20-Minute Jam Getting Out Of The City LP.  They do a 27min "Sister Ray" on this.

Spacemen 3 - Threebie 3 LP. Least impressive live S3 shit I've encountered, but I'm stupid / can't get enough.

Minimal Man - The Shroud Of... LP. Found at a swap this weekend, never had a copy before, lame life now less shitty.

  • Been listening to these records by The Pooh Sticks. Ace garage pop band that few seem to care about.

  • My last post in here was flagged for review and doesn't look like it posted. It was a bunch of hardcore demos lol.

  • @Gimmie Sopor that band are fucking ACE

  • paperniks, donna allen, the tubs, buzzcocks, new tvps radio sessions comp, game theory, the a's, living dream - it's the good stuff / iykyk

  • @Gimmie Sopor Yeah, totally ace band that should've been the face of '90s Brit Rock instead of Oashit and Pulp(shit). I wonder if they purposely avoided major labels or was it the name that held them back? I really like the 60 Ft. Dolls, a Welsh band with a little more success than PS (they were managed by a PS member) -- First record only band though-

    Their big hit

  • @Ebber The Joneses were definitely an anomaly on that album but also really stood out. I bought the album when it came out but it wouldn't be years later until I heard more of the Joneses. Main man Jeff Drake wrote an autobio recently. His brother Scott was in the Humpers and they played together in the Vice Principals (just one album on SFTRI).

(Hozac! I would love to read your books but make some digital pleeeeezzzeee!)

  • The Jeff Drake book is good. He doesn't pull many punches. Got to work on a few music videos for the former drummer of The Joneses and The Mau Maus, he's a cool guy.

  • The Joneses compilations that Puke N Vomit put out are very well done. Not a cash grab, very cool liner notes and pics. They did 3 volumes.

  • @ratcharge Shop regulars also are amazing live. Some evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyTLf5YMm6Y&t=1315s

    KBD Vol 9.
