Our favorite fishy boot boys, THE CARP, are back with their sophomore LP, offering up more working class street punk through the skewed musical lens of 'The Kids Who Brought You Cruelster.'  While in Knowso, the other project Nathan Ward fronts, he tends to veer towards abstract ruminations on the absurdity of mundane priorities in our broken world, The Carp is much more  politically overt. While maintaining some of their other projects idiosyncratic approach, on the  gang chanted refrain the album's second single, 'Fuck Alex Karp' any opaqueness is completely dismissed. Their 2024 debut 'Knock Your Block Off' perfectly captured that moment in time, and 'Tangled' really speaks to our current position. In a cultural descent which seems to have no bottom, the present climate is even more terrifying than could have been imagined just two years ago. The Carp speak to that reality and ask the big question... what's your place in this world? If you can't attract attention and your hands are in your pockets well then nothin's gonna stop nothin!
