As a Floridian summer is not a time of joy, but rather a time of unforgiving sweltering heat.  As a man well past his school years I also can no longer equate it with carefree days of galavanting, but rather of higher than usual air conditioning bills. I guess this is a sign that I'm truly becoming an old grump.
